Hero Santhosh falls for Ash Leela and as their parents are against their love, they decide to elope from their hometown. The pair go to Ooty and take asylum in Bhavani Reddy's residence, who is the sister of a bigwig in the serene hill station town, but lives alone. She plans to conduct the wedding of the lovers and consults a purohit for an auspicious date. When it is said that they can carry out their wish only after a week, the marriage gets postponed.

Meanwhile, Bhavani develops a crush towards Santhosh, who plays friendly with her and praises her beauty. She then tries to separate the lovers and stop the wedding. The aftermath and the happy ending are narrated in the second part of the movie.

Hero Santhosh has already portrayed the lead role in the film Nirayudham. He has shown improvement in his acting skills and makes his part enjoyable even in the romantic song sequences. Ash Leela, who is always seen with the hero does not have much opportunity to score, but plays the needful. Realizing the strength of her role, Bhavani Reddy has excelled in her performance by playing great in showing variations in each of her character's characteristics.

Director Sampath Raj can be appreciated for portraying the transgenders in a good manner. He has taken an attempt to reveal the problems faced by the runaway lovers, but the lack of momentum in the screenplay makes the film less interesting.

Surya does a commendable job with the songs, but falls behind when it comes to the background score. Cinematographer Sekar has picturised Ooty splendidly, but the technician has less opportunity to showcase his skills since a majority of the plot revolves inside a house.

In short, Ini Avane is an average romantic outing.
