With the issue of him hosting the Tamil reality TV show Bigg Boss still a highly debated one, Kamal Haasan's name has been in the news more since he had addressed the press earlier this week.
The issue began when the Hindu Makkal Katchi earlier this week demanded Kamal Haasan's arrest along with the 14 contestants participating in the Bigg Boss show. The actor then called for a press meet when a reporter had posed the query as to what he had to say about the Malayalam actress abduction case. In his reply, the star had mentioned the name of the actress and stated there is nothing wrong in doing so.
The issue then took a new turn when the Chairperson of the National Commission for Women, Lalitha Kumaramangalam had stated that a suo motto would be issued against Kamal Haasan as he had mentioned the name of assault victim.
Meanwhile, Kamal took to his Twitter space yesterday to issue a statement in a series of tweets saying, "Apologize say women, while I love & fight 4them.I wiill bend 2 no woman or man 4 no reason. U r penalizing the lawyer & missing criminals. Cant name her? Name her after my mother or my daughter. This war will be fought.Yehhai Mahabharath katha. Jago My lady bharath. Salaam. If you still want me to apoligize I will. No one is above law ...except your gods. God is no reason just a ruse for some,".
