Actor Chiyaan Vikram’s daughter Akshitha and Manu Ranjith, the son of industrialist CK Ranganathan, got married at a private function at the residence of DMK leader M Karunanidhi on Monday
DMK chief M Karunanidhi’s great grandson Manu Ranjith and Chiyaan Vikram’s daughter Akshita got married in Chennai on Monday. Ranjith is the son of noted industrialist CK Ranganathan, who is married to Thenmozhi, daughter of MK Muthu, the eldest son of the 93-year old DMK patriarch. Ranganathan is the Chairman and Managing Director of fast moving consumer goods major Cavinkare Ltd.
Vikram’s daughter Akshita and Ranjith were classmates and their engagement was held in July last year. A source close to Vikram told us, “A grand stage was set for the homam at Kalaignar’s Gopalapuram residence, where the marriage took place. None of the celebs from the industry were present at the marriage as it was a close-knit affair. However, the wedding reception will take place at the Mayor Ramanathan Chettiar Hall on Tuesday and prominent faces from the industry will attend.”
The couple along with their family members called on Karunanidhi at his residence in Gopalapuram, and sought his blessings. Photographs of the newly-wed along with their parents posing with Karunanidhi were widely displayed on social media. It was a reunion of sorts for the Karunanidhi family as well.
MK Alagiri was seen posing with Karunanidhi. The veteran politician’s grandsons, actor Arulnithi and producer Dhayanidhi Azhagiri, also attended the function. MK Stalin unfortunately, couldn’t attend the wedding.
Ranganathan’s brother CK Kumaravel also shared pictures of the Sangeet, that was held at a seven-star property in the city during the weekend, on Twitter. “Family is what happens when two people fall in love. My brother’s son Manu and Vikram’s daughter Akshitha will get formally wed in a moment,” he tweeted. Many celebrities wished the couple on social media sharing the pictures.
iFlicks sends out our hearty wishes for the newly weds! Stay blessed!
