'Nimir', a remake of 'Maheshinte Prathikaaram' will see Udhayanidhi Stalin playing a photographer and Namitha Pramod as the female lead. Helmed by Priyadarshan, the actress talks about her experience shooting for this film and about her next film in Tamil.
Actress Namitha Pramod, the leading lady of Udhayanidhi-Priyadarshan’s upcoming film Nimir, said that shooting for the film has been a great experience. “With veteran directors like Priyadarshan and Mahendran on the sets it has been a learning curve. At the same time, it was a lot of fun as well,” Namitha told us.
The actress said it was quite a challenge though to play a Tenkasi girl in the film. “Born and raised in Kerala, I can manage quite a bit of normal Tamil. But speaking the south Tamil Nadu dilaect was a challenge and my costars and the team helped me pull off the role,” she added.
Nimir, a remake of Maheshinte Prathikaaram will see Udhayanidhi Stalin playing a photographer. “I had watched the Malayalam version of the film. When Priyadarshan sir approached me to play the female lead, I agreed,” she said.
Namitha also clarified that she did not take any references from the original in which Aparna Balamurali had played the female lead. “Though I am reprising someone else’s character, I ensured that I added my own touch for the Tamil version. So, the audience will see have a fresh feel when they watch the film,” she added.
The actress said that she is awaiting the release of Nimir before signing her next project in Tamil. “Now I am shooting for Kammara Sambavam, which has Dileep and Siddharth in lead roles,” she finished.
