There was speculation that 'Vijay 63' would be directed by Vetrimaaran. However, a source close to Vijay told us that the project would not go on floors.
As Vetrimaaran is busy with the post-production of Vada Chennai, rumours were abuzz that the National award-winning director will collaborate with Vijay for Thalapathy 63. However, a source close to the actor told us, “Vetrimaaran had in fact narrated a story to Vijay eight months ago. But, due to various reasons, the project didn’t take off. For now, he is focussed on his current project with Murugadoss and it is too early to talk anything about his 63rd film.”
However, we hear that Vijay 63 will be an offbeat film unlike the actor’s previous commercial entertainers like Theri or Jilla. “He will listen to the script only after completing his current movie,” the source added.
Another rumour was that director Ram had also approached the actor and narrated a one-liner. “They haven’t even met each other before. Any updates on Vijay 63 will be only after the release of Vijay 62 and we request fans on social media not to speculate anything on his upcoming project,” the source replied.
Meanwhile, the latest update on Vijay 62 is that, 40 per cent of the film is complete and the remaining portions of the film will be completely shot in Chennai.
