Actress Chandrika Ravi, who has been receiving critical acclaim for her role in the adult horror comedy Iruttu Arayil Murattu Kutthu is on cloud nine. “I’m overwhelmed with the response for my role in IAMK. I couldn’t have asked for a better launchpad in cinema,” she told DTNext.
The Australian born-Indian actress said that whenever she doesn’t shoot in India, she takes to producing shows in the US. “I’m currently working on a couple of shows but I will begin shooting for my upcoming Tamil-Malayalam bilingual Un Kaadhal Irundhaal, a multistarrer, directed by Hashim Marikar. Like IAMK, the story of Un Kaadhal Irundhaal revolves around me and I signed the film last week. Being half Malayalee, UIK is like homecoming and I’m excited about it,” she said.
Divulging more about her role, Chandrika said, “The film has an ensemble star cast and will be a great learning curve. I have grown up seeing actors like Kasthuri and Srikanth and I am excited to share screen space with them. I will be joining the team later this week.” Talking about working in LA and Kodambakkam, she said, “It has quite a few advantages. It helps me show Hollywood, what we are capable of. Meanwhile, it could also help me in bringing some western influence in southern cinema.” Apart from Un Kaadhal Irundhaal, Chandrika is also listening to a few scripts from Bollywood.
