Actress Chaya Singh’s character as Roopala in Iravukku Aayiram Kangal has opened to positive reviews. Talking to DTNext, the actress said that she had said no to several films before signing IAK. “I don’t sign films for the sake of it and I’m ready to wait. Post Power Paandi, I had listened to several scripts, but they weren’t convincing.
My last Kannada film, in which I played Shiva Rajkumar’s sister, went on to become a huge success. My role was critically-acclaimed. These are the kind of scripts I am Iooking for,” she said. Talking about Iravukku Aayiram Kangal, she said, “When Mu Maran narrated the story to me, I was impressed with the suspense my character had. Also, the costumes my character wore were unique. Sporting mural designs on sarees and antique jewelleries, her character was well-etched and designed.” Talking about her on-location experiences, she said, “I shot for a little over 15 days, and the entire shoot was fun.
Arulnithi, who looks like a tough guy, is quite soft-spoken and gentle in person. Apart from that, it was also good to work with Mahima Nambiar, Suja Varunee and Vidya Pradeep.” Chaya will be next seen in a film, titled Pattinapaakam. “I have listened to a few interesting scripts and will be announcing my next project in a couple of weeks,” she concludes.
