On Friday, the team of Pyaar Prema Kaadhal announced that the release date of the film has been preponed by a day. The film will now hit the screens on August 9 and director Elan is on cloud nine. “We will know the exact number of screens that we will be getting in the next few days. However, there is no superstition or strategy behind advancing the film’s release from August 10 to 9. We all felt that August 9 looked a better date than August 10,” he smiles. While Elan’s first film Graghanam, which started in 2015 is yet to the see the light of the day, Pyaar Prema Kaadhal will be the director’s first official release in Tamil. “I always wanted to do a rom com and when Yuvan and his team were looking for a script in the genre, I narrated this story to them. His team liked the idea and things started falling in place,” he tells us.
The film is Yuvan’s maiden production venture for which he has also composed the music. “I wanted things to be intact ever since we began pre-production and Yuvan as a producer gave me the liberty to explore with the film. Moreover, he was focused on the film’s music than the budget. His team was behind him and organised things for shoot. Yuvan planned the music perfectly so that it has a good connect to the storyline apart from enhancing the script,” adds Elan.
Talking about the casting Harish Kalyan and Raiza Wilson, he says that they were selected to play the lead roles after various rounds of audition. “We wanted a fresh pair and we had several rounds of audition. Especially for Raiza’s role as we needed a new face, who could also perform. They have performed well, and you will see it once the film is out next Thursday,” he brims with confidence. The first look posters of the film that had Raiza in an ultra-modern costume and Harish Kalyan in a lungi, created huge anticipation among the audience. “The audience will see this contrast through the film and that is what Pyaar Prema Kaadhal is all about,” he concludes.
