Marana Mass, the first single from Petta released on Monday and took the internet by storm. The lyrical video went on to garner four million views within a day.
Composed by Anirudh, the song is also special because SPB, who has crooned for numerous Rajini songs that were chartbusters from 1970s, has also lent his voice along with Anirudh for the number, which is touted to be the intro song. The last time SPB sang Oh Nanba for Rajinikanth was in director KS Ravikumar’s Lingaa which hit the theatres in 2014.
Marana Mass has evoked nostalgic feelings among ardent fans of Rajinikanth and SP Balasubrahmaniyam. The actor-singer duo has collaborated for various introduction songs like En Peru Padayappa from Padayappa, Oruvan Oruvan Mudhalaali from Muthu and Devuda Devuda from Chandramukhi among others.
