In November, it was reported that Mani Ratnam before reviving his dream project Ponniyin Selvan, will produce a film that will be directed by Dhana Sekaran and will have its music by Govind Vasantha of 96 and Seethakathi fame.
The latest is that the makers have roped in actor-composer GV Prakash to play the lead role. A source close to the film unit told DTNext, “The film has its dialogues co-written by Mani Ratnam and will go on floors soon. The story was originally planned to be a Mani Ratnam directorial. However, he couldn’t take it up due to his commitments because of Ponniyin Selvan. The story of his production venture is a unique script that will cater to the audience across sections.”
GV’s career graph as an actor is on an all-time high as he has been the first-choice actor of ace directors like Bala, Rajiv Menon and now Mani Ratnam. Meanwhile, GV awaits the release of Sarvam Thaala Mayam, 100 Per Cent Kaadhal, Jail, Watchman, Adangathey and Ayngaran.
