Actor Simbu, on Tuesday, filed defamation cases against the producer of his film Anba navan Asaradhavan Adangadhavan Michael Rayappan and Vishal Krishna, the President of Tamil Nadu Film Producers’ Council for allegations made against him.
The Madras High Court has also issued a notice to Michael and Vishal and has asked them to respond to it before January 18. In his plea, Silamabarasan said that Rayappan was unnecessarily making statements aimed at tarnishing his image. “Rayappan is yet to pay a huge sum of my salary. During the problems post the release of AAA, Vishal involved in Kangaroo Court and acted in favour of Rayappan,” he said. Silamabarasan has also sought of compensation of Rs 1 crore.”
Reacting to this, Michael Rayappan told DTNext , “Simbu is trying to deviate the entire issue by filing a defamation against us. Whatever I did was legal. I filed a complaint against Simbu in the council asking him to explain to us for his absenteeism and repay me for the losses I incurred for AAA. I only said whatever he did to me. How is this defaming? Moreover, I have enough evidences to prove Simbu’s lethargic attitude which I will put forth in front of the judge before January 18. I am ready to face this legally.” Simbu also demanded Rs 1 crore from each as a compensation. Further in his plea he said that Nadigar Sangam and TFPC shouldn’t intervene in films that actors sign in future.
