Contrary to rumours, we hear that Rajini will not play the role of Tamil Nadu’s Chief Minister in AR Murugadoss’ next
Even before the official announcement of Rajinikanth’s next with AR Murugadoss, there have been a lot of speculations surrounding the film’s storyline. While recently there were reports that Superstar will play the role of Tamil Nadu’s Chief Minister and that the movie has been titled Naarkali, we hear from sources that the film has nothing to do with politics.
A source close to the team says, “Rajini is not playing a politician as speculated. The film will be a mass entertainer that celebrates Superstar. However, like every Murugadoss’ film, there will be a strong social message that connects well with the audience.” We also hear that there is no change in the film’s title. “Naarkali has been finalised as the film’s title. Murugadoss is currently in talks with some top Bollywood actresses to play Superstar’s love interest.”
Another interesting update is that, Keerthy Suresh, who played the female lead in Murugadoss’ Sarkar, might play a pivotal role in the film. Murugadoss is currently scouting for locations with award-winning cinematographer Santosh Sivan, with whom the actor is teaming up after 28 years. Bankrolled by Lyca Productions, the film is all set to go on floors from the first week of February. The makers have planned to release the film on Deepavali this year.
