Even before completing the first schedule of shoot, there are a lot of speculations revolving around Shankar’s much-awaited film, Indian 2. Recently, there were reports that Shankar has postponed the film’s shoot as he was not satisfied with Kamal Haasan’s look and make-up.
However, the latest we hear is that, the real reason for delay in the shoot is because of the wage dispute between Kamal Haasan and Lyca Productions, which bankrolls the project.
A reliable source close to the team, told DTNext, “Lyca Productions have earlier funded Rs 35 crores for Kamal Haasan’s film, Sabaash Naidu. Since the film was dropped in the middle due to various reasons, Lyca requested Kamal Haasan to reduce his salary for Indian 2, for which he agreed. However, the actor now wants to revive Sabaash Naidu, and has been asking Lyca to pay his salary without any reduction.”
The source adds, “This has created a misunderstanding between the two and in fact, that’s the reason for delay in the schedule. Kamal Haasan might resume the shoot once the producers of Indian 2 agrees to pay him more, which might help him to revive Sabaash Naidu.”
The film, which is rumoured to hit the screens in 2020, has Kajal Aggarwal playing the female lead. Actor Siddharth has also been roped in to play a crucial role in the film.
