Tinseltown grapevine has it that director Murugadoss will join hands with Allu Arjun for a big budget trilingual
Director AR Murugadoss is busy with the pre-production work of his upcoming film with Superstar Rajinikanth. Even before the project has been officially announced, reports have now surfaced that Murugadoss’ next after Rajini 166 will be with Allu Arjun. In 2017, Murugadoss had collaborated with Telugu star Mahesh Babu for a Tamil-Telugu bilingual Spyder.
His film with Allu Arjun is said to be a Tamil-Telugu-Hindi trilingual that will be made on a grand scale. We contacted sources close to the director, who said, “He had a story written with Allu Arjun in mind and even discussed it with him. However, he is now focussed on Rajini 166 aka Thalaivar 166. We will know only after the release of Superstar’s film.”
The reaction from Allu Arjun’s sources from Hyderabad wasn’t positive. “Murugadoss had narrated the outline of the script to Arjun’s friend and producer Bunny Vasu. However, Arjun has just announced his film with Sukumar. He also has listened to another script for which he will allocate a majority of his dates in 2020. We are not sure if Allu’s project with Murugadoss will take off anytime soon.” Murugadoss’ last outing was Sarkar with Vijay in lead role.
The film opened to mixed reviews and was a commercially viable venture at the box office. Allu Arjun, who was last seen in Naa Peru Suriya, which bombed at the box office, forced him to take his own time before committing himself to a project.
