Actress Vedhika talks to us about working in Kanchana 3 and also reveals some interesting details about her other projects
Looks like actress Vedhika is quite upbeat about her upcoming film Kanchana 3, which is all set to hit the screens on April 19. Though the pretty actress has been busy with other language films, she will have a release in Kollywood after almost four years. “I was waiting for the right time to make a comeback,” she begins. “Moreover, Kanchana 3 is one of the popular franchises which any actor would love to be a part of. I am excited.”
Vedhika played the female lead in the blockbuster film, Muni, the first of this horror franchise. “I was only 16 when Lawrence gave me an opportunity to be a part of Muni. We never knew that the film will become a huge hit and create a trend of sorts in the film industry. Even Bollywood came up with horror-comedies only after the release of Muni.” Ask her about Kanchana 3, she says, “Lawrence understands the pulse of the audience well and knows what exactly they need. Kanchana 3 is yet again a fun-filled horror thriller that will be enjoyed by both family audience and youngsters. We had so much fun on the sets and it was more like being on a vacation.”
Talking about her co-stars in the film, she says, “I completely enjoyed working with Oviya, Kovai Sarala maam and Nikki. We were more like a family and had a blast every other day. I have a lot of memories to cherish for life.” Vedhika reveals to us that she has signed another Tamil film, which has Aadi Sai Kumar playing the lead. “It’s an intriguing thriller and I have already started working on it. The content of the film is unique and interesting. I am also in talks for a couple of projects in Tamil, which I am not supposed to reveal.”
The actress is also making her debut in Bollywood this year. “I grew up watching Hindi films all my life. That too, working with someone like Imran Hashmi and Rishi Kapoor is more like a dream come true. I am looking forward to its release. The title of the film is yet to be finalised.” She adds, “I am simultaneously working in a Kannada film, which has Upendra sir playing the lead.” Though she has been in this industry for more than a decade, the actress has always stayed away from controversies and gossips. Ask her about it, she says, “I am more of a loner and I don’t have many friends in the industry. After shoots, I go back home and rehearse my dialogues for the next day. May be, that’s one of the reasons I am not involved in any link-ups or gossips.”(she smiles).
