Sivakarthikeyan's much anticipated Velaikkaran is said to be an action thriller with a strong social content. Like the title suggests, director Mohan Raja has promised that the film will question every doubts, address every problems a simple labourer face and throws tribute to all the genuine workers out there.
With the date set for Velaikkaran's release tomorrow, the film has gained a steady pre release buzz with its unique teaser, first look posters and promotional videos. Courtesy to producer RD Raja of 24AM Studios for leaving no stones unturned when it comes to promoting their movie. It must be noted that Velaikkaran was initially slated to hit the screens on Ayudha Poojai; September 29. But, due to heavy post-production works the makers of the film had to push the release date to Christmas holidays.
One of the most interesting aspect of the film is that a 7.5 acres of slum set was erected to shoot a big portion of the film. Apparently, the art director Muthuraj had used real garbage and other scrap materials to get a realistic look. They had also created a Koovam around the locality to depict the lifestyle of a slum.
Coming out with a clean 'U' certificate, Velaikkaran features 'Lady Superstar' Nayanthara and Fahad Faasil in pivotal roles. Sneha, Prakash Raj, RJ Balaji, Sathish, Vijay Vasanth, Robo Shankar and Thambi Ramaiyah are also part of the cast.
Musical Rockstar Anirudh has provided the tunes for Velaikkaran and all the songs from the album was an instant hit the moment it hit all the media platforms. Especially the two singles 'Karuthavanlaam Galeejaam' and 'Iraiva'. Ramji has cranked the camera, while Vivek Harshan has provided the cuts.
