Once when Barani goes to the town to visit his friend he meets Poongodi (Umasri) and falls in love with her. When he proposes to her, the girl wants him to get her parents consent. So Barani follows her to find her parents but Poongodi enters her friend's place. By mistake Barani convinces the parents in that house to accept his love.
Meanwhile Poongodi's father's friend's son named Barani comes to their place. Poongodi's parents like this person and decide to unite their daughter with him. When they inform this to Poongodi she too accepts thinking that he is the person whom she loves. At one stage Poongodi comes to know the truth and the hero also comes to know that his ladylove is his paternal uncle's daughter. Whether they unite or not is the rest of the story.
Vijayasekar as Barani is shown with a smiling face and a beard throughout the film. Though he is casual in few scenes it is boring to watch the monotonous look. Apart from it, the hero shares all his feelings with drinks which is a bit irksome. The final suspense scene also does not work in his favor. Umasri looks apt for the role but has less scope to prove her mettle. Rajapraba is seen in only few scenes and he is not expressive.
Director Mavanan has taken a regular triangle love-story as his theme. The story is pretty predictable and seems to have lot of mind voice than dialogues. Music director Vasanth Mohanraj could have given better background music.
