Mukhil (Ashwin) helps his friend by working as a part-time photographer while he also awaits his call letter. His father is employed by a strict police official (Vijayakumar). One day, Ashwin meets Megha (Srushti) in the bus stand and falls for her.
Mukhil once goes to a wedding assignment and is surprised to find Megha there. Her first brother's marriage happens against the wish of their family and so they are not in good terms with him. Without knowing this, Mukhil takes a family photo which suppresses the hatred of the family. They in turn start liking him. This helps him to develop his love and even Megha expresses her attraction towards him. Though their love affair is condemned by her elder brother, they continue their romance secretly.
Mukhil gets a job in the forensics department with the help from his father's employer. Unluckily, the police officer is found dead in his home and Mukhil suspects it to be a murder. He collects all the necessary details and when he is ready to hand them over to his superior things take a turn. The killer gets to know about the investigation and kidnaps Megha. Whether Mukhil saves her or not is the rest of the story.
Ashwin scores in action as well as romance. Srushti looks beautiful but does not have much scope. Vijayakumar as the police officer, Jayaprakash as Ashwin's senior play their parts well.
Director Karthik Rishi could have made the movie attractive with some interesting and fast moving scenes. The biggest strength of this movie is maestro Ilaiyaraja's music. A special mention can be given to his melody 'Puththampudhu kaalai'.
