April O'Neil (Megan Fox), a reporter for a news channel is trying to work out footage on a gang called the Foot Clan. Eventually, by luck, she finds the clan involving in robbery and tries to shoot the footage in her phone. It is then, when a shadowy figure takes on the Foot clan and aborts their plan. April tells her boss, Bernadette Thompson (Whoopie Goldberg) about the incident but she does not believe her story.
April tries to find out more about the unknown figure and she encounters not one but four of them in a subway station. The Turtles Leonardo (Johnny Knoxville), Michelangelo (Noel Fischer), Donatello (Jeremy Howard) and Raphael (Alan Ritchson) notice her and warns her not to divulge their existence.
April runs home and checks on her father's notes. Her father was a scientist and he was working on some turtles few years back. She realizes that the teenage mutant ninja turtles are indeed the same ones she had as pets. April speaks to Eric Sacks (William Fichtner) about the existence of the turtles as he was working along with her father. Sacks relay the information to Shredder (Tohoru Masamune) and they plan to take control of NY by spreading a lethal virus.
Meanwhile, in the sewers, the Turtles' master, Splinter (Tony Shalhoub), explains about the danger they might encounter. As expected, the Foot clan attacks the turtles and captures three of them. How April along with Raphael rescues the others is the rest of the story.
Though the movie plot is not big, it has enough humour to sustain. The pace of the movie makes it watchable as well.
