Tamizhselvan (Rajesh) is a famous gangster in Ranipettai and he works for a don named Kasi. Kalaiselvi (Kalai Anamika) works in a private hospital in Kanchipuram after completing her nursing course. One day her friend's mobile phone is lost and Tamizhselvan's friends pick up that lost phone.
When Kalaiselvi contacts the friend's number, the call is received by Tamizhselvan. She pleads to him to handover the phone to her friend. While handing over the phone, Tamizh gets a chance to know Kalai's number. Kalaiselvi enquires about him and comes to know that he is a goon. Feeling bad, she tries to change him. At one stage Tamizhselvan also accepts and decides to lead a normal life. They start loving without knowing each other. Kalaiselvi decides to express her love to him on her birthday.
Meantime Kasi gets an work order to kill a female in Kanchipuram and he designates the work to Tamizhselvan. When he hesitates, Kasi makes him accept his offer with the promise that he will get good money out of it and he can settle down in his life without any hassle.
Kasi comes to know that the girl is the lover of Tamizhselvan and so he returns the advance. After that he tries to convey this message to Tamizhselvan but his phone is switched off and Kasi is unable to prevent Tamizhselvan. Whether Tamizhselvan accomplished the task or not is the rest of the story.
Rajesh maintains a monotonous expression throughout the movie. His looks are not acceptable for a gangster. Mahendran, Dilsa and Pop Suresh have done their part well. Anamika attracts everyone with a pretty face and she scores in the climax scene as well. Rams as a villain with humanity gets the appreciation. Ashok Pandian as the hospital owner is not that impressive in his character.
Though the story seems to be an interesting one, director P. Pandian fails to make it catchy due to the long and slow scenes. Rajadurai's camera portrays the highways beautifully. Chandra's music is not up to the mark.
