The local leaders of two parties always quarrel over the rights for posting posters on a common wall. Many people become victims due to the fight that ensues because of this problem. Kalaiyarasi's father dies during such fight.
After that an opponent party member Kannan (Nandakumar) utilizes the wall. Anbu (Kalaiarasan) with the help of Maari (Vinoth) tries to turn him out but in this conflict Kannan's son gets killed. To take revenge, the opponent group kills Anbu in front of Kaali. Angered over his friend's death, Kaali wants to punish the gang but his lover prevents him from doing so. Whether Karthi took revenge or not is the rest of the story.
Karthi has given an excellent performance. His body language and dialogue deliveries are appreciable. He scores in romance and fight scenes. Being a debut performance in Kollywood, Catherine Tresa has done well. Her facial expressions do get a special mention. Most of the cast have done their part well.
Santhosh Narayanan's music adds strength to the movie and background music is excellent. Murali captures the beauty of North Madras in his camera. Dialogues, editing and even the choreography have been done well. Director Ranjith who gave a jolly good love story in his previous film 'Attakathi' is successful with this movie as well.
