'Pulipaarvai' is a biographical film which narrates the real life story of Balachandran Prabhakaran, 12 year old son of the LTTE leader Velupillai Prabhakaran. This film picturises the atrocities of the Sri Lankan army in their final battle with the Tamil Eelam group.
Prabhakaran's younger son Balachandran was brutally shot and killed by the Sri Lankan army. This story says about this incident and the activities of the army to destroy the LTTE in the last phase of the war. It also shows how the young boy faced his end without any fear showing bravery.
There is a beautiful love story between a fighter and a woman who acts as a bomb remover in the midst of continuous explosions. Even then director Praveen Gandhi has tried to emphasize that it is more important to save their land than the emotions but it is clearly seen that he could not bring out his feelings completely. Since the story revolves around the young boy, Prabhakaran's character has no big
scope in the screen.
In the first part of the movie, the visuals do not sync with audio much especially for the dialogue delivery of the Sri Lankan military official. Even the background music is not that effective.
