Rajan is the head of a middle class family. He has four daughters and one son. His son Suresh does not go to any job yet desires to lead an extravagant life. Rajan runs the family with the money he gets in his transport job and his daughter Kanaka also helps.
Rajan's father Janagaraj talks bad about Kanaka because she comes home late after her work. Babu Ganesh who marries Rajan's daughter Vindhya has the habit of extorting money from his father-in-law without the knowledge of his wife. Bearing all these difficulties, Rajan and Kanaka look after the family.
Ramki who is a neighbor falls in love with Kanaka and wants to marry her. But since he gets his transport job through Rajan he is unable to ask him directly. At one stage he reveals his love to Kanaka and asks her to get permission from her father. Rajan decides to sell the house to meet out the marriage expenses. The house is owned by Janagaraj and so Rajan deceits his father saying that they need
money to do his eye surgery and gets his signature. Then he sells the house to Ramki.
Rajan's son Suresh is in prison for a theft case. When he comes to know about the sale he turns Janagaraj against Rajan. They both file a case on Rajan about the illegal sale of the house. The rest of the happening is narrated in a different angle in the movie.
This movie was produced eight years ago but has hit the screens only now. Director Babu Ganapathy has narrated the sufferings of a middle class family so well but the long gap in releasing the movie might make it difficult to be accepted by the audience.
Yesteryear lead artists like Ramki, Kanaka and Suresh are seen in this movie and they have done justice to their roles. Even Rajan has done his role well. Songs are okay in Krishna's music.
