Director S.A.Chandrasekaran has done this movie after a long gap and he has given two stories together in this screenplay which is an new effort in the Tamil cine field. The first story revolves around SAC himself. He at the age of 25 falls in love with Babri Gose, a Marwadi female. With his mother's acceptance he makes his marriage arrangements in a church.
On their marriage day SAC waits for the bride in the church but she does not turn up. When he goes to her house he comes to know that her family is against their marriage and so they vacated their place. He wants to find out her and so leads a lonely life without getting married. Fifty years pass by and at the age of 75 he learns from his friend that her lover is in Simla.
Feeling that he should give her the engagement ring before his death he leaves to Simla at this age. The rest of the story narrates the aftermath. Director SAC has taken the lead role for the first time and his looks itself registers the love failure effectively.
In the second half of the story Jayabalan and his son Robo Shanakar live in a village and they do sand smuggling illegally. They murder and bury the village official who questions about this. Aswin and Gayathri coming from a private television to investigate about this stay in the same village. Heroine Sunu Lakshmi who loses her parents lives in the same village with her younger sister.
One day when Robo Shankar misbehaves in the school Sunu Lakshmi's sister scolds him. So he kidnaps and murder her after raping her. He makes the people believe that she commits suicide. But Sunu Lakshmi does not believe this and tries to take revenge on Robo.
Whether she is able to fulfill her aim is seen in the rest of the second play.
All the artists have played their portions well throughout the movie and had given a strong support to the screenplay. Heroine Sunu Lakshmi fits well to her village character and she has given out an efficient performance. Comedian Robo Shankar has taken a negative character for the first time and has did justice to his role. Adukalam Jayabalan can be given a word of appreciation for his good work.
SAC dominates in both the stories and get the appreciation for giving the viewers the opportunity to visualize two stories under one title. Ilaiyaraja registers himself in the music composition and background music. Arun Prasad's camera shows Simla very beautiful.
