‘Thala’ Ajith starrer ‘Yennai Arindhaal’ has hit the screens among much anticipation and hype. The film was first touted to be an action–thriller but the film’s director Gautham Menon revealed that the movie’s story line would have equal doses of romance, emotion, action and crime.
The Ajith-Gautham Menon combo added on to the hype and movie-goers knew what to expect from these biggies. And, ‘Yennai Arindhaal’ seems to have all the aspects a complete entertainer should possess.
The movie narrates the happenings in a man’s life from the age of 13 till the age of 40. ‘Thala’ Ajith plays the role of a cop named Sathyadev and his childhood dream is to become a doctor. The story revolves around the incidents that happen in Sathyadev’s life, the people he meets, and what changes they bring into his life.
‘Yennai Arindhaal’ is a story about revenge. Ajith wants to take revenge on the gangsters who killed his father. So, even after becoming a cop, he ends up in jail to spot the accused who murdered his father. He meets Arun Vijay in the process and becomes his trustworthy friend after saving his life. After being jailed for a short span, Ajith comes out to kill his father’s murderers and accomplishes his desire.
Later, Ajith meets Hemanika (Trisha) whom he marries. The duo’s heart touching romance is awesome and captivating. The couple lead a happy life and when everything seems to be in place Trisha gets killed.
Ajith decides to stay away from all the chaos and leaves to North India to lead a normal and peaceful life. When he comes back to Chennai he gets to know about the ruthless kidnapping of women and young children. The villains try to kidnap Anushka and Ajith saves her from them. He once again joins the police to put an end to this issue.
What happens next? Why was Anushka kidnapped? Who killed Trisha? How did Ajith become Arun Vijay’s enemy is narrated in the rest of the story.
‘Yennai Arindhaal’ has been made exclusively for Ajith. The movie has space for both mass appeal and stylish execution. Unlike other movies, ‘Yennai Arindhaal’ has two pivotal female roles which are elegantly played by Trisha and Anushka. Both the women look gorgeous and have done justice to their roles.
Though the film lacks the classic touch of ‘Vinnaithandi Varuvaya’ or ‘Kakka Kakka’, ‘Yennai Arindhaal’ has come out to be a wholesome entertainer which appeals to the audience.
Harris Jayaraj’s music is an additional strength to the movie. The composer has made some brilliant music which the storyline requires. Dan Macarthur‘s cinematography has captured all the emotions in splendid locales.
In other words, ‘Yennai Arindhaal, which has a running time of around two hour and 48 minutes, is a perfect Ajith movie with a tinge of Gautham’s classy filmmaking style.
