One day a tree planting event is conducted on the behalf of the government. During the event when the ground is dug out, police find a dead body there. They come to know that a different chemical is used for the murder and start searching for the culprit.
In this situation, Police officer Samuthrakani working in Pollachi has been transferred to Kumbakonam to investigate the murders. Taking in charge in Kumbakonam the officer meets Sarveswaran and warns him not to do further mistakes. On hearing this Sarveswaran tries to kill the police officer while Samuthrakani makes efforts to arrest the gangster in a case.
Sarveswaran plans to kills Samuthrakani while he travels to Pollachi to meet his family. Samuthrakani informs about this attempt to his friend Sarathkumar who is an encounter specialist before being killed.
Sarathkumar gets the permission of his higher officials for an encounter on Sarveswaran. He then joins as a water supplier to Imman Annachi and waits for the suitable situation to conduct the encounter. He then comes to know that Sarveswaran plans for a sabotage by using chemical bombs along with foreigners. The aftermath is narrated in the rest of the screenplay.
Sarathkumar has preformed dual characters in this movie after a long gap. He fits so well in the negative role and threatens the audience by his villainy gesture. In action scenes he makes the audience enthralled in his own style. The comedy portions done with Tambi Ramaiah are also good.
Meera Nandhan performs a family oriented role and the other heroine Oviya plays the role of a police with a glam touch. Vincent Ashokan and Samuthrakani play the honest police officials. Radha Ravi is astonishing in his negative role. Imman Annachi, Thambi Ramaiah and Vennira Aadai Moorthy make the comedy scenes hilarious.
Director A.Venkatesh has done the story in his usual style. He has given special importance to the villain character of Sarath. Songs are good in James Vasanthan's music. N.S.Udhayakumar's camera works are excellent in song sequences and action scenes.
