Fisherman Pawan and dancer Govind are very close friends. Pawan is married to Uma and has a kid. As a friend Govind visits Pawan 's house often.
Rajendran is a money lender and lives opposite to Pawan 's house. He has the habit of compelling women to yield to his desires if they fail to pay back his money. He likes Uma and plans to fulfil his desire by putting her life into trouble.
He makes Pawan believe that Uma and his friend Govind have an illegal affair and frustrated by this hoax, Pawan stops doing his job and becomes a drunkard.
Pawan’s behavior ends up the family in poverty and Uma approaches Rajendran to lend her some money to run the family. Rajendran tries to make use of the situation but Uma humiliates him leaves the place.
Fumed by the incident, Rajendran creates a fake video of Uma and Govind and shows it to Pawan. Pawan gets furious and beats his friend Govind to death and gets arrested by police.
Uma is left helpless with the kid and what happens next is to be seen in the rest of the screenplay.
Pawan has acted in the lead role in this movie and has performed well. Govind, Sathyasri and Uma have done their portions well. ’Naan Kadavul’ Rajendran's characterisation adds strength to the movie and his acting is enjoyable.
Director Bhaskar has used friendship as the main theme and has registered the happenings in the slum areas beautifully. Songs and the background music are okay in Mahendran's music. Ezhil Arasan's camera works deserves appreciation.
