Naren is a big shot in a village and his wife dies after giving birth to a girl baby. Naren then starts living for his daughter Mahima and he spends all his time for her well-being. Mahima is also very affectionate towards her father. Hero Varma works in Naren's house and has huge respect for him. Naren also treats Varma like his family member.
One day while riding a bike Mahima falls into a well. On seeing this Varma saves her and admits her in a hospital. Mahima realises that she had lost her mother’s chain in the accident and gets depressed.
Varma finds the chain and returns it to Mahima. Overwhelmed by this incident, Mahima falls for Varma and expresses her love to him. Though Varma has the same feeling he avoids her love due to his respect for Naren.
In this situation, Naren arranges Mahima's marriage with the son of a zameen who lives in the neighbouring town. Rumours about Mahima and Varma start surfacing and Naren doesn't believe this. Not willing to be a hurdle for Mahima’s marriage Varma leaves the place. The rest of the story features the aftermath of these incidents.
Hero Varma has done his part very casually and he is able to emote well. Mahima fits well in the village girl character and attracts the audience by her realistic performance. Naren has been given a more significant role and he has done justice to the role.
Having chosen a casual village story director U.P.Maruthu has roped in a perfect cast but he could have concentrated more on the climax.
Songs and background music is good in Maria Manohar's music. Akilan's cinematography adds strength to the movie.
