Bhagayaraj and Jayaram stay in a village called Manjamakkanoor.
The village is surrounded by rivers in all the side and people have to use small boats to reach other places. Bhagayaraj and Jayaram are the only literate people in the village.Bhagyaraj is married to Swetha Menon and the couple has a 5 year old son. Jayaram is in love with Sandya who lives in the same place.
In this situation assembly elections are held and since none of the political parties help in the development of the village, the villagers decide to contest Bhagyaraj in the election as an independent candidate. Bhagayaraj wins the election with the support of the villagers and the prime parties cheat him by making false promises to develop the village.
Irked by the incident Bhagayaraj and Jayaram plan to create a situation in which a by election would be conducted. The duo decides to make people believe that Bhagayaraj is dead by hiding him and what happens next has been narrated in the rest of the story.
Bhagyaraj had done the story, screenplay and dialogue after a long break and has proved his skills. Bhagyaraj and Jayaram have excelled in their acting. Jayaram attracts the audience by his witty actions. The son's character also gets applause in comedy scenes. Director Vivekanandan has made the scenes more interesting but the story’s length could have been shortened.
Songs are okay in Jai, Balaji Pradeep's composition but the BGM needs more attention. Karthik Raja's camera works are enjoyable.
