The movie shows Mahendran and Manisha Jith escaping to Chennai. The next day morning they are kept in a police station for enquiry. Seeing Manisha in a bridal costume, the police inspector assumes that they are lovers and Manisha has escaped from a forced marriage. So he starts questioning them and Mahendran tries many times to convey the truth but in vain. The story narrates how the two get out of this trouble.
Mahendran does not have much scope to act apart from the last fifteen minutes. Manisha Jith has utilised the chance to prove her acting abilities. M.S.Baskar's comedy is enjoyable. Manobala, Mahanadhi Shankar and Muthukalai had done their portions well.
Though there are many talented artists, director Lara could not utilize them properly. Most of the comedy scenes are not that hilarious and the screenplay could have been more interesting. Songs and background music are average in William’s music. The cinematographer Ratheesh Kanna had to show his talents by showing a police station throughout the movie.

The recently released '36 Vayathinile' is the first production from Surya's own firm 2D Entertainment and it marks the re-entry of Jyothika after a sabbatical of eight years. The woman-oriented storyline was well acclaimed by the critics and audience.
The movie is running successfully in theatres and the revenue collection seems to have crossed 18 crores so far. It is to be noted that the production cost was said to be 7 crores.
Due to the increasing response, the movie is screened in extra theatres from today. This movie is said to attract family audience after a long period and this opinion is given by the theatre managers too. Since the first production of Surya's firm has gained such a big victory, the cinema lovers are hopeful that he would continue to produce more quality movies.
