'Selvandhan' is a dubbed version of Telugu 'Srimanthudu' starring Tollywood star Mahesh Babu and Shruthi Haasan in the lead. The hero Mahesh Babu is the only son of the wealthy Jagapathy Babu. Mahesh leads a very simple life and has a tendency to help the poor.
Once when Mahesh happens to meet Shruti he falls for her. He joins the same college where Shruti does her graduatio. They happen to meet often and Shruti also starts loving him. But when she comes to know his status she starts avoiding him.
In one occasion Shruti happens to question Mahesh about his native village. This makes Mahesh to visit his village and help the people who are in the verge of poverty.
Mahesh faces many problems while helping the villagers and whether he was able to fulfil his aim has been showcased in the rest of the movie.
Hero Mahesh Babu has done his character well in his own style. The action scenes are very realistic in his performance. Shruti has done her portions well. She impresses audience with her looks and dance moves.
Songs are good and the back ground music is excellent in Devi Sri Prasad's composition. Madhi's cinematography strengthens the movie’s feel and the song sequences are a treat to the eyes.
Korattala Siva has directed this movie with a village backdrop like his previous projects. The movie could have been more interesting with a strong screenplay.
