Anushka starrer 'Rudhramadevi' which has hit the screens recently has turned out to be an interesting epic with a gripping storyline.
The 3D Indian historical film is based on the life of ‘Rudhramadevi’ who was one of the most prominent rulers of the Kakatiya dynasty.
The movie has been produced and directed by Gunasekhar and was given tax exemption in Telangana.
The movie is set in Kakatiya kingdom ruled by King Ganapati Deva. The rival kingdom, Devagiri’s king has an age old enmity with Ganpati Deva. Ganapati Deva is blessed with a girl and on the suggestion of Rajaguru Prakash Raj, the girl is faked as a boy and she is being trained with all the skills as a prince.
Meanwhile few cunning people from Kakatiya’s ministry who keep eyeing for the throne find out that the King’s heir is actually a girl and create a huge chaos in the kingdom. The rest of the story reveals whether Anushka was accepted by her people and whether she succeeded in saving her kingdom by defeating her rivals.
Anushka, who is well – known for her performance oriented scripts, excels as a courageous warrior. She carries herself so well and her screen presence is absolutely stunning. The ace performer perfectly fits into the epic role and amazes audience with her proficient acting.
Allu Arjun has done a short yet sensible role. His realistic performance is appreciable.
Other stars like Rana Daggubati, Prakash Raj, Suman and Adhithya have done justice to their respective roles.
Filmmaker Gunasekhar has succeeded in making an astonishing historical film in a visually appealing manner. He has made sure that the film has dialogues and scenes praising womanhood.
‘Maestro’ Ilaiyaraja has provided soulful music to the film and Ajayan’s cinematography is amazing. The picturization of war scenes and the graphical content are laudable.
