Roshan's father Thalaivaasal Vijay runs a chit fund along with Kaadhal Thandapaani in the Temple town of Kumbakonam. Thandapaani cheats Vijay and elopes with the money, meaning Roshan has to rescue his father from the debts to payback the concerned people.
Roshan lands in Chennai to make some quick money and is eventually helped by Pijo Issac who wants him to rob a bank in return. What happens next is the rest of Radhakrishnan's Kubera Rasi.
Roshan from Paapanasam has done a commendable job as a tensed hero. Abirami Suresh perfectly fits into the role and walks away with a decent performance. Thalaivaasal Vijay shows us the veteran that he is and the villain Issac is brutal when he commands the hero and robs the bank.
The real problem of the movie is the dull screenplay that shows robbing a bank to be ridiculously easier than sneaking a candy out of the neighbouring retail shop. Our banks are unsafe and our financial system is obsolete or our directors are going the distance to make it look that way. Those are the only two plausible ways of looking at Kubera Rasi.
Ganesh Ragavendra's songs and background score are not inspirational and Dilraj's cinematography can be bracketed under the same tag.
Kubera Rasi lacks a lot on logic.
