Urumeen is all about revenge that transcends through centuries. Bobby Simha has donned different roles - a patriot, an Engineering student and an advocate as well. As the movie tagline says “Revenge is Ultimate”, the hero tries to take revenge on his friend (Kalaiyarasan) who betrays him.
Bobby Simha has tried to give a ruthless look and come across as an action hero but unluckily his baby charm fails to infuse the needed effect. He has tried to justify the characterisation but whether it was convincing is a different story altogether.
Kalaiyarasan has done well in his given role and his character has equal weightage to that of Bobby Simha’s. Appukutty, Mano Bala, Charlie have added more value with their screen presence.
Reshmi Menon doesn’t appear much on the movie and seems to have a quiet impact on the screen. If you were expecting more scenes with her, then you will definitely be disappointed.
Director Sakthivel Perumalsamy has tried using motion capture in the initial part of the movie and the effort is commendable. He missed on making the screenplay more interesting for the audience as it will be difficult for most to comprehend his style.
Editor San Lokesh could have made the movie more crisp with much needed cuts.
Achu Rajamani is impressive with his sound tracks and Ravindranath’s cinematography makes quite an impression.
