'Sawaari' is a road thriller based on a psycho killer on the prowl. The knot in this story is about nabbing a psychopathic serial killer who’s been terrorizing people on the highway. The killer gets a lift in the cars that travel in the Chennai-Vellore National Highway and murders six persons in a row. ACP Benito Franklin has been appointed to catch the murderer.
With a day left for Benito to tie the knot with his lover Sanam Shetty in Andhra, he travels in a car on the Chennai-Vellore highway. When his car breaks down with some repairs, he takes a lift in a car owned by M.L.A Arun. The psycho killer also gets into the same vehicle. What happens after that forms the crux of the movie.
Hero Benito Franklin fits well to his character with a magnificent physique and does justice to the given part. Sanam Shetty has very less scope to act, but has done a neat job. Karthik Yogi, who has played the role of a mechanic scores the audience's applause with his smart acting skills. M.L.A Arun also adds strength to the film with his acting.
Chezhian's cinematography is appreciable in visualizing the natural beauty of mountains and forests. Music composer Vishal Chandrashekhar’s (Jil Jung Juk fame) background score adds soul and thrills to the story of Sawaari.
Director Guhan Senniappan has selected an interesting story and an apt cast for his flick but the movie would have been more interesting if the artists had been utilized better.
