Kammatipaadam is based on a man who grew up there and the changes that he faced through his adulthood. Krishnan (Dulquer Salman) comes in search of his childhood friend Gangan (Vinayakan) and gets wounded in the process. As he travels, he reminisces about his childhood and the way in which Kammatipaadam influenced his life.
The story shows a gang of friends who grew up together and faced some trouble due to their wayward activities. Later on, Krishnan moves away from Kochi and becomes a security officer in Mumbai. He is not in touch with anyone for a long time but he comes back in search of his friend Gangan as he hears some distress. What happened to his friend is the rest of the story.
Dulquer Salman has essayed three different looks for this movie and comes across as an efficient actor. He has taken a serious role as a middle-aged man rather than his usual boyish ones and has proved to be good at it. Vinay Forrt, Shine Tom Chacko and Vinayakan have done justice to their roles.
Director Rajeev Ravi has tried his hand in an action drama and has brought it out successfully. Screenplay by Balachandran allows the audience to get set to the pace and pans out well. Music by K and cinematography by Madhu Neelakantan can be appreciated.
