The long-delayed Meera Jaakkiradhai is a horror-thriller genre film directed by R.G.Kesavan, an Ex-military officer. This film features Monica in the female lead and Bobby Simhaa as the antagonist with debutante Mageswaran as the hero.
Meera Jaakkiradhai's story revolves around the murders happening on a bridge located on the way to Chennai from Pondicherry. Since many of the passersby meet their ends, the people that live in a nearby town are afraid about a ghost's presence on the bridge. This fear goes on the rise when one of the local residents falls prey to this cruelty.
Bobby Simhaa's house is located near this bridge. His wife and child live there as Bobby works outstation. A lunatic alone moves freely on the bridge. Debutante Mageswaran is a college student and he comes to this place with the idea of solving the mystery and taking a short film on it. One night, he mounts few cameras near the bridge, but comes to notice that the cameras are all broken the next day. Upon investigation, he finds out that the lunatic is behind the damage and When he finds out that the lunatiishe behind this damage, Mageswaran and begins inquiring him. Upon the inquiry, Mageswaran comes across shocking revelations.
The reason behind the deaths, the connection of Bobby Simhaa to the bridge and the truth are revealed in the latter portion of Meera Jaakkiradhai.
Debutante Mageswaran has tried to bring out the best from him and Bobby Simhaa's performance is satisfactory. The other artists have done their given portions justice. Director Kesavan has tried to picturize a regular story in a different angle, but the lack of interesting sequences result in a drawback to the film's overall tempo.
Songs are okay with Raj's music, but the composer could have given more care to the background score. Even, the cinematographer Jenish Veerapandian could have done better.
In short, Meera Jaakkiradhai is regular story shown differently, but lacks depth.
