After losing his parents, Vasan, the hero lives with his friends in his native and runs a life by doing whatever work comes his way. In particular, he joins for work under a real estate owner who gives him frequent tasks. Life for Vasan runs between earning and spending the money on drinking.
As days pass by, Vasan falls in love with Mridula, but decides to keep his feelings for her to himself.
Meanwhile, a real estate agent befriends Vasan who promises the hero a huge amount of money if he manages to get a property document processed without any hindrances. Lured by the money, Vasan gets the deal done for the real estate agent. However, this comes to the real estate owner's notice and he turns furious at Vasan.
How the hero overcomes the real estate owner's fury, whether he professes his love to the heroine forms the rest of the story of Jennifer Karuppaiya.
Although Vasan isn't the most charming of actors, the film's hero fails to impress us with his histrionic skills. It is a mystery why the film's director opted for Vasan as the choice for hero considering he doesn't do any justice in the romantic scenes.
Mridula Vijay looks beautiful and has done justice to her role partially. Rohini, who comes at the start of the film and in the middle has played her part perfectly. Overall, no other character in the film makes a solid impression.
Director Saravana Pandian had made the film trying to bring to light the issue of agricultural lands being seized by real estate owners. Although the subject is referenced at the start of the film, the director takes the story in a completely different direction. In the end, the director loses direction and ends up telling a story that is in no way related to what he intended to at the beginning. Had the director moved the story in the way he had intended to, the film could probably have been worth watchable.
Kishore Kumar's background score fails to make an impact and neither do his songs.
In short, Jennifer Karuppaiya is utterly forgettable.
