In Pandiyoda Galatta Thangala, we see Nithin Sathya as a doll salesman, Yogi Babu as a small-time thief and an aspiring film actor Singam Puli living in a mansion run by Imman Annachi in Chennai.
Nithin falls in love with Raksha Raju working in a store opposite to his shop. Raksha, who has five brothers involved in rowdyism and violence however poses a challenge to Nithin saying he has to outsmart them and only then, she will marry him.
On the other hand, Imman Annachi is posed with a problem when Nithin Sathya and others living in the mansion evade from paying their rent. Left with no choice, Imman Annachi decides to sell the mansion. Upon hearing this, the people in the mansion promise to pay up their rent and convince him not to sell his mansion.
To see that the rent is paid on time, Imman Annachi hires Mayilsami. Meanwhile, Nithin Sathya, Yogi Babu and Singam Puli plan to get Mayilsami married to a servant lady who comes to clean the mansion. The woman, however, says she will marry him only when he quits his drinking habits.
Meanwhile, everyone in the mansion get Mayilsami drunk and he falls to his death from the mansion rooftop as a result of the intoxication. After his death, Mayilsami returns as a ghost and gets into one of the dolls and starts frightening all the people living in the mansion.
How the people in the mansion escape the frights of Mayilsami and whether Nithin Sathya emerges victorious against Raksha Raju's brothers forms the rest of Pandiyoda Galatta Thangala's story.
Despite Nithin Sathya playing the lead in Pandiyoda Galatta Thangala, Singam Puli, Imman Annachi, Mayilsami, Manobala have more screen time in the film. All artistes have performed their roles to their fullest. Raksha Raju looks beautiful. Although she has less screen time, she plays her part fairly well.
Time and on, the audience is told Pandiyoda Galatta Thangala is a comedy film, but despite a comedy team line-up, the film directed by Gunasekaran fails on the front. The film may appeal only to children and would have clicked with the adults too had the comedy been written properly. The graphics in the film are enjoyable to an extent.
'Gana' Bala's song in composer Sukumar's music is enjoyable. The background score should have been better. Suresh's cinematography is decent and good.
In short, Pandiyoda Galatta Thangala leaves us wanting to leave early.
