Jai is an employee in the IT sector where he meets Pranitha Subhash, who is also his colleague. He soon falls head over heels in love with her. As time passes, the two get close with each other physically and in no time they are in a romantic relationship. However, during an instance in a party, Jai witnesses Pranitha getting close with another person and is heartbroken. He decides to get detached from her, but is soon under tremendous emotional stress and seeks help from Thambi Ramaiah, who is a psychiatrist. Although Thambi Ramaiah tries to help him, Jai attempts a suicide, but holds back at the last moment.
Jai then confesses to his friends Kaali Venkat, Karunakaran, Naveen and others that he attempted a suicide. But, they don't pay heed to the seriousness of the issue and carry on with their work and lives. However, they realize that Jai plans to commit suicide and rush to save him. At that point, they all get entangled in problems of their own. Jai then watches a program featuring Santhanam speaking, who inspires him to live on and decides to quit such negative thoughts. He then heads to help his friends who are stuck in crises because of him. How Jai saves them, whether he is reunited with Pranitha forms the rest of the story for Enakku Vaaitha Adimaigal.
Jai is at ease in his role and once again does it justice. His antics gain him claps from audiences, especially in scenes where he decides to not commit suicide and improve his life by listening to film songs. In addition, during moments when he calls up Thambi Ramaiah after midnight are hilarious. Although her role is quite short, Pranitha looks her glamorous best. Jai's friends Kaali Venkat, Karunakaran and Naveen put a smile on our faces with their escapades, but fall short at certain instances. Thambi Ramaiah, who plays a psychiatrist excels in his comedy role yet again. 'Motta' Rajendran as the Black Rock and Badava Gopi as a TV host leave us in splits with their antics. Although Santhanam appears in only scene, his advice to young lovers is a good moment in the film.
Director Mahendran Rajamani has attempted to make a full-fledged comedy entertainer, but eventually ends up making a film that goes overboard on its mission. The end result is there are few moments when it sells short. Had he drawn a fine line, the film would have been more enjoyable. Santhosh Dhayanidhi's music is enjoyable throughout the film; especially the "Kannadi Poovukku Vannamillai" with its splendid visuals. He has scored in the background score department too. Mahesh Muthuswami's cinematography warrants appreciation as he has shot the songs in a distinctive manner.
In short, Enakku Vaaitha Adimaigal is comedy galatta.
