Yogi Babu says he is in love with Anandhi and tags Tamizh along with him whenever he goes to visit her. But, Tamizh eventually falls for her and starts to develop genuine feelings towards her. Anandhi hates the sight of Yogi Babu and scolds him every time he comes to visit her. Because of that Tamizh stays away from her sight fearing that she will end up hating him too.
One day Anandhi looses her footwear while boarding a bus, she tries to retrive it but to no vain. Soon after that, her father, Jayaprakash is captured by a group of terrorists in abroad. Anandhi gets really worried and visits a fortune teller, who is co-incidentally the mother of Tamizh, and asks her when she will get to see her father again.
The fortune teller then says that Anandhi will see her father only when she finds her missing footwear. Out of desperation, she believes her and tries to find it. Meanwhile, Tamizh eavesdrops on the conversation and decides to help her out, hoping that it will get him in good books with her. The rest of the plot revolves around whether they find the footwear? Will Jayaprakash return? Will Anandhi accept Tamizh's love?
Tamizh, a familar child artist who impressed us all with his performances in Pasanga and Marina, has grown into a young man has pulled off the character decently and proves that he has the credentials to be a commercial hero. Though the film revolves around Anandhi and her lost footwear, compartively she has very little to perform other than being the hero's love interest. Yet, she has done a good job. Yogi Babu, has a meaty role to play and he has delivered a fun performance.
KP Jagannath had done a good job in the directorial department. He has attempted to make an unique love story, which works in parts, as the concept is hard to believe in. But, since the film is supposed to be a romantic comedy, guess it is acceptable. Yet, the wafer-thin story and the loose screenplay has nothing new to offer, which makes us to question, why we should watch the movie?
Sukaselvan's cinematography skills come to the fore, and has made En Aaloda Seruppa Kanom very colourful. Ishaan Dev has made his debut with this film, and his scores more than justify the movie's genre, which makes him a promising music composer.
In short, En Aaloda Seruppa Kaanom, is pass time.
