Sasikumar is a fortune teller in his village, who leads a simple life along with his sister, Sanusha Santhosh. He falls in love with his sister's friend Mahima Nambiar, who initially hesitates to accept him, but then later does, with a condition. When he asks for her hand in marriage, in return Sasikumar should let his sister Sanusha get married to her (Mahima's) brother Vidhaarth.
Meanwhile, Pasupathy, the village's most feared leader, unofficially runs a cracker factory along with his brother-in-law. Vidhaarth, who is a honest Tahsildar, finds out the illegal activities behind the factory, and tries arrest them. In order to save them the trouble, Pasupathy then decides to kill him.
When Sasikumar gets to know about this he intervenes and tries to stop Pasupathy from killing Vidhaarth, as he is his brother-in-law. The rest of the plot revolves around how Sasikumar stops the antagonist from killing Vidhaarth, and whether he successfully arrests them.
Sasikumar has as usual delivered a convincing performance. Pasupathy, has pulled of a role of a baddie with such an ease. However, it is not surprising as he always given his best when it comes to acting. Vidhaarth, yet again proves that he has all the potential to be acknowledged as one of a talented actor. Shamna Kasim plays the role of crass and a bold Pasupathy's sister. Her negative characterisation has given her a lot of scope to perform, and she has done her job well. Mahima Nambiar, Sanusha Santhosh and Bala Saravanan are seen in pivotal roles, and all of them have done justice in playing their parts neatly.
M Muthaiah has once again made a film with a village backdrop, which focuses on family sentiments. Though he has done a decent job in the directorial department, the film's screenplay feels as the same as his previous movies, and has nothing new to offer. SR Kathir has cranked the camera and he has shot well. NR Raghunanthan has provided the tunes for the film and his background scores justify the film's genre, while his songs are pleasant to hear.
In short, Kodiveeran, is watchable.
